Decimal To American Odds
By convention only a set of fractions are used in fractional odds betting markets. The set does not include exact mathematical equivalents to all possible decimal and American odds. We use the closet fraction that is used in betting markets.
Fractional odds of 4/5 are therefore equivalent to American odds of -125 and decimal odds of 1.80. If the fraction is smaller than 1, it is known as odds-on. Calculator users will notice that. The Moneyline or American format if the figure quoted is positive it expresses the profit you would make from a successful bet with a $100 stake, so 200 means $200 in winnings on top of the returned $100 stake. A 200 Moneyline price is, therefore, the same as the fractional 2/1 odds, or 3.00. Converting American odds to Decimal As the American Odds have two types, there are two methods to convert them into decimal form. For positive odds, the odds are divided by 100 and 1 is added to it. For negative odds, 100 is divided by the odds and 1 is added to it.
Indonesian odds are close to moneyline or American odds, but they’re in decimal format. A -1.20 bet in Indonesian odds would mean that the bettor must wager $120 to win $100. It’s the same as a -120 bet in American odds. The main difference is that a plus wager doesn’t use any symbols. A +200 bet in American odds would appear as a 2.00.
For example, the exact mathematical equivalent of decimal odds 30 is fractional odds 29/1. However 29/1 is not used in betting markets, instead 30/1 is used, so that is what appears in this converter.
